A HEALTHY LIFESTYLE
The National Heart Foundation highlights many ways of reducing your risk of heart disease on their website at www.heartfoundation.com.au , but here are Dr Flood’s tips:
Keep it simple- most strategies for improving your cardiac health are common sense. Don’t get caught up with ‘fad’ diets or the latest exercise craze. Remember, eating healthy food (and less quantity of food) combined with regular physical activity (such as simple walking daily) can lower your risk of heart disease.
These changes need to be part of a long-term lifestyle change, not just a temporary ‘health drive’.
